"Mullit are an essential part of any visit to the Alps. They have a huge and well justified following amongst the staff of all the resorts in which they play, and a bar full of season workers is your guarantee of a big night out. Local knowledge knows best after all.

Mullit come on stage, the crowd goes wild, the mosh pit is up and running in seconds, and so starts the crowd surfing. A three hour set from what is beyond any shadow of a doubt the best band playing in the Alps follows and everybody leaves hot, sweaty, pissed and knackered, but also in the full knowledge that they've just been to a pretty special gig!

Musically, the lads are the tightest, most technically adept band around. They also judge the mood of the crowd to perfection and choose the tunes to suit.

Just to top it all, you don't even have to wait for it to snow. The boys can be seen in London, Cornwall, and on the Cote d'Azur as well as all winter in a number of ski resorts.

They are a regular play on my radio show because the quality of their CD's is as good as their gigs!

Just go, It's that simple!"

"I don't like rock and all that live stuff, but I just haven't been able to escape the sounds of Mullit in Val d'Isere. Mullit must be the hardest working and most professional band in the Alps. Over the last 5 winter seasons I have watched and heard Mullit develop from an apres ski band at the Foret bar to a stage diving, crowd pleasing, abslute rockin' it group of complete legends.

If you own a bar - BOOK THEM. If you like it hot and sweaty - GO AND SEE THEM. Simple"

Many season workers from the last few seasons will know 'Mullit', a band who've built up somewhat of a following, particularly in Val d'Isere. Here's a little history to bring you up to date.

A Little History
Starting with four Essex boys, the band decided to combine their love of music with their love of snowboarding and shipped out for their first season in Val d'Isere in 2000. They quickly managed to line up gigs in various bars and clubs in Val d'Isere (La Foret, Lodge Bar, Dick's Tea Bar, La Savoie Hotel and Magoo's).

After such a rousing success with their first season, they headed back out to Val d'Isere in 2001 and this time played gigs in Les Arcs and Les Menuires too.

When the 2002 season rolled round, two band members decided that they no longer wanted to live the season workers life, and the outlook for Mullit looked bleak. However, after a little searching, replacements were found and the band headed back out the Val d'Isere once more.Surprise, surprise.

This past season has seen Mullit once again in Val d'Isere and they have been better than ever. Their gigs at the Lounge have become legendary.

The Line Up
The current incarnation of Mullit has four members: Ed on vocals, Al Johnson on lead guitar and Mark on drums

"I first met the boys (Mullit) at the end of my first winter season in Meribel 2002/2003. How can I ever forget it! It was the first time in my life that I had ever managed to crowd surf as I'm 6'5" and 20 stone! that's quite an achievement! Twelve months later on a drunken night in Dick's Tea Bar in Meribel after their final gig I spoke to Mark (Mullit Drummer) and he mentioned that the band was thinking of coming to Cornwall for the summer to play some gigs. About 2 months later I had a call from James Sweet who also knew Mullit from previous winter seasons and he told me that they had moved into a flat 200 yards away from the pub I help run. They started playing gigs in the local area and soon had a regular gig at the good old Manor in Widemouth Bay. As the summer went by their gigs went from strength to strength and their regular Wednesday night gig at the Manor became the place to be, get pissed, have a party and listen to some good old guitar based rock music.

Towards the end of the summer I asked them if they were interested in playing at a local charity event that is now in it's third year. With no hesitation they agreed, It had to be planned around the gigs they were due to play in Sweden and Finland so the date was set for one week after their return, Saturday 9th October. They arrived back in Bude not quite knowing what lay ahead that evening but they were up for the challenge! The night was a huge success! They came, they played and they concored! Just like the whole summer, they played while guest singers and guitarists joined them on stage and a drunken idiot interrupted them and talked crap (me)!

Boys, without you I would never have crowd surfed a bunch of skiing toffs and my two seasons and this summer wouldn't have been the same! So on behalf of Bude thank you and good luck to you all. You will always be welcome in Bude!"
