A HEADY MIX OF VODKA, MULLIT AND DJ MITCH MEANT THE9TH NATIVES SKI SHOW WORKERS PARTY WAS BIGGER AND BETTER THAN EVER.
"THE DANCE FLOOR WAS PACKED FROM THE MOMENT MULLIT STEPPED ON STAGE, AND THE ATMOSPHERE WAS ELECTRIC"
TheNativesWorkers Party on the last Saturday of the Metro Ski and Snowboard Show is always a night to remember and this year was no exception.
This event now has such a following that it had sold out, in advance, for each of the previous five years, and 2007 was no exception. Despite a new venue with a significantly increased capacity – hosting almost 1000 party goers – the last ticket was snapped up two days before the event. It seems we can’t get a big enough venue!
Those lucky people who had planned ahead, arrived at the venue - The Novotel West London – to be treated with a choice of energy drink or water from Extreme Drinks. This was followed by a free toffee vodka shot from Thunder Vodka. The first one hundred through the door also received an exclusive limited edition ‘Show Love Tour’ t-shirt.
Thanks to DJ Mitch Matthews warm-up set, feet were soon tapping and the first handbags were danced round, as his funky floor fillers set the scene.
While legendary Alpine rockersMULLIT prepared to take the stage, Natives Event Manager Ben Simpson ‘showed love’ to the masses, giving away thousands of pounds worth of skis, flights, holidays and other goodies in the free raffle draw.
But it was MULLIT themselves who really took our breath away with a blistering performance. The dance floor was packed from the moment they stepped on stage, and theatmosphere was electric. Which was ironic, as a short power cut delayed their curtain call, but we like to think it just added to the drama of the night!
The annualNativesWorkers Party may result in happy memories, hangovers and hot gossip, but the more sober element of the evening is that we were delighted to contribute almost £2000 for the British Disabled Alpine Team. The team relies on public support to compete at the highest level.
