Andres Luengo - Drummer

At the age of 13 and after trying out various instruments, Andres Luengo fell for the drums in a big way. His father was playing in a hall with his band and he got to sit behind the drummer. This he recalls totally mesmerized him as he could see the audience swaying to the latin beat that was kicking out from the kit. From then on he was hooked. Studying with various teachers over these early years proved invaluable, helping him to play many styles in various situations. He has played at all levels from local pubs to the biggest arenas in the UK.

Highlights include a UK tour supporting Deep Purple, being a drum roadie for Missy Elliot and playing for Toby Jepson from The Little Angels. He has also played in many bands and appeared on a vast number of recordings.

Andres was also the drummer for Juice and Gardenstate78, both of which featured ex Mullit bassist and good friend Nick Mahoney. It was through Nick that Andres met the boys as a stand in for Mark Beevor who was on a weeks vacation. When Nick decided it was time to move on he recommended Andres for the bass playing position as he also played bass. He leapt at the chance of playing with the "Alps most popular band" and the challenge of a new instrument and with Nicks help (and equipment loan!) he has played the role for over 2 years.

This year sees Andres back in the familiar role of drummer, taking over the reins from Mullit co-founder and drummer Mark Beevor and looks forward to keeping the same high level of energy and dedication that Mark has shown.
